CBI to Submit Status Report on Kolkata Doctor’s Murder Case

The crime investigating agency of India CBI is likely to submit its report on the rape and murder of a medical trainee at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on Thursday.
Supreme Court took suo motu of the Kolkata rape-murder case and it was heard by the bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on August 20.
Similarly, the West Bengal government will also file its probe report.

Kolkata government ousted the newly appointed principal of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital after students protested against people holding administrative positions in the hospital. Later on, Manas Kumar Bandyopadhyay replaced Suhrita Paul as the new principal.
The court also sacked the chest medicine department head and hospital superintendent.
The CBI has been questioning RGKMCH principal Sandip Ghosh since last week. It also summoned other authorities of the RGKMCH.
The Ministry of Information Technology has also requested social platforms to remove images, videos, or any other multimedia from the online platforms.
Interestingly, the protest received support from former cricketer Sourav Ganguly, including his wife and daughter.
